Benefits of a dentist abroad

So what is a dental implant? The earliest forms of dental implants date back 1,350 years to the Mayan civilisation, but today it is usually a piece of titanium that is placed in the bone and around which tooth restoration can take place. These procedures are becoming more and more common and get their dental implants in Budapest and other European countries.

Having screwed the titanium post into the bone a period of time is given to allow the bone to grow onto the implant, after which the implant can be built on with a crown to complete the procedure and provide the patient with a ‘new’ tooth. The procedure can be quite expensive in the UK, which is why many choose to have their dentist abroad perform the implant surgery instead as significant savings can be made.

There a surprisingly large number of companies outside of the UK who are able to offer this service to UK customers for a hugely discounted price due to lower costs and higher levels of competition.
