What cricket equipment do I need?
Cricket is one of those sports for which a significant initial outlay is often required to get all of the kit that you need. Whilst it’s possible that on joining a club they will have equipment that you can use, you really need to buy your own cricket equipment.
Depending on the season, you’ll need base layers, shirts, trousers, sweaters and possibly a hat. Fortunately, cricket clothing is probably the least expensive aspect of the sport and there a number of stores, both on and off line, that can provide you with everything you will need.
How many items of cricket equipment should I have?
It is recommended to have two full sets of cricket clothing, especially if you intend on playing regularly, as it’s easy to stain the white clothes by rubbing the ball on them or through grass stains when making those spectacular catches!
There are a number of online stores that supply cheap cricket clothing for men and women of all ages and size. If you play for a team and are keen to get matching kit, many places also offer customised clothing so you have your team name and club logo on all kit for a more professional look.
